February 2008 - Richmond Oak Conservatories

A Garden Room Eyrie
Perched high above the surrounding countryside
and with fantastic views of the English Channel beyond, this Garden Room
Conservatory has recently been completed by Richmond Oak for a client in
Devon.
Great thought went into ensuring that this
conservatory would complement the open space where it is built. Large panes
of glass were used to provide unobscured views of the local scenery. The
glazing is set in folding doors that on warm sunny days can be folded back
to give a feeling of even greater spaciousness.
To ensure that ships, fishing boats and other
sea-craft can be viewed as they sail by, a glass-fronted balcony has been
fitted at the front of the conservatory, while one side leads directly
to the garden.
The high oak-beamed roof and use of white
paint on the ceiling also add to the spaciousness that makes this conservatory
such a wonderful place to spend time in and the owners have furnished the
space using light colours and ensured it remains uncluttered.
Although the conservatory
is a modern design, the oak beams and the rest of the oak construction
make it fit harmoniously
with the existing property. It is a unique design and yet another example
of Richmond Oak’s bespoke approach to conservatory design and construction
