April 2003 Featured Installation - British Conservatories

Description: The conservatory is 18' x 14' x 15' tall (at the ridge) and features an asymmetrical roof layout. It is a welded aluminum structure with non-organic composite trim and moulding. The sashes and doors are aluminum clad mahogany construction. It is located in Southern California, which required specific engineering to minimize the effect of seismic activity (earthquake) for local building code compliance. The fireplace and chimney were in place before the conservatory was designed. The sashes are top-hung awning with rotary operators. The roof ventilation has remote motorized operators.
