The Quantal Conservatory Roof System
Quantal is probably the second or third largest UK supplier of Conservatory roofing components. Quantal state that the main advantage of their roof is that, unlike most of their competitors who use PVC-U, which soils quite easily, theirs uses polyester coated aluminium externally. This offers distinctively authentic, traditional, period aesthetics combined with long term durability. The primary benefit of the finish is that it retains its colour and appearance very easily - with the minimum of maintenance. In particular the finials and cresting will look virtually as good many years down the line as when first installed.
Aluminium also has many technical advantages over PVC-U such as higher strength and lower thermal expansion, which means the roofs are significantly less prone to movements, which could affect the sealing of the roof over time. Quantal's box section aluminium eaves beam also allows the building of larger roofs without the need for intrusive tie bar strengtheners.
Quantal market a complete conservatory roof solution, for a wide range of designs such as Victorian, Edwardian, Lean-to and Combination units.
Available in two shades of brown as well as white externally, the roof can be finished internally in a choice of white, mahogany or antique oak foiled PVC-U cladding or real wood veneer.
Quantal is one of the few conservatory roofing companies to have been awarded the prestigious BBA - British Board of Agrement - certification, following analysis of structural integrity and weather tightness, including simulated wind and snow loading as well as sunlight ageing tests.
